What will the apprentice be doing?

Whilst studying for your qualification, you will work on a variety of different projects such as:

  • Working on repairs such as skirting boards, walls, doors
  • Working on plumbing and draining
  • Customer care/service
  • Carpentry/joinery
  • Floor and wall tiling
  • Plastering and rendering
  • Ventilation
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Guttering services
  • Understanding of health and safety

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Level 2 Apprenticeship includes:

  • Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Standard Apprenticeship
  • CSCS Test 
  • Functional Skills maths and English

As part of the apprenticeship programme, attendance is required at our Skills Group training centre for one day per week

All other aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site by the employer. You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated Skills Group assessor, who will monitor your progress during your apprenticeship training

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • On completion of your Level 2 Apprenticeship with the company, an opportunity for full time employment may be available for the right candidate
  • You will be able to discuss your onward options with your designated careers advisor
