What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a full-time apprenticeship whilst you work towards completion of your intermediate, level 2 childcare qualification.

You will be actively involved in the day to day activities and care of young children from the ages of 6 months - 5 years.

You will be involved in:

  • Play activities - including outdoor play with the young children
  • Feeding
  • Changing
  • Craft and learning activities
  • General day-to-day care of the young children

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer.

Little Cherubs will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification
  • Functional skills in maths and English if required

This will be delivered through Little Cherubs' dedicated training provider, Realise. Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Excellent career prospects for the right candidate. Will work towards completion of Intermediate and Advanced Level Apprenticeship. You are employed within this nursery full time from day one. Possible permanent role for the right candidate.

About the employer

Our Birkenhead nursery is Ofsted registered for 55 places and is located on Old Chester Road. We offer care and education to children from 6 months to 5 years, the setting is open from 8am to 6pm all year round. The nursery has a very high attendance level with many children on our waiting list.
