What will the apprentice be doing?

At Bright Days Nursery they deliver a child-led curriculum that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, or EYFS for short. This offers essential learning and development experiences that support children for their next stage of learning.

As an apprentice you will help in supporting this with duties as follows:

You will be actively involved in the day to day activities and care of young children from the ages of 6 months - 5 years
You will be involved in play activities, including outdoor play with the young children
Toileting
Feeding
Planning activities
Doing risk assessments
Communicating with children and parents

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Bright Days Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes: Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification Functional skills in Maths and English if required This will be delivered through Bright Days Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise. Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.
