What will the apprentice be doing?

Day to day duties will include:

- To be responsible for own time management
- To ensure all College days are attended
- To be responsible for undertaking instructions from qualified engineers, and your Mentor
- To be responsible for your own learning
- To be responsible for asking questions to better understand the role and industry.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidates will work towards achieving a Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard including qualifications in:

  • Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (practical units)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Adanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Workplace portfolio.

All off-the-job training will take place one day a week at Derwent Training, Malton.

Things to consider

The successful candidates must be 18 or over. This is due to Severfield's Health & Safety policy. The candidates must also be able to travel to Severfield Infrastructure, Bridlington and to Derwent Training, Malton to achieve all elements of the Apprenticeship.
