What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Position for apprentice dental nurse, duties will include-
  • Assisting dentist in surgery during treatments
  • Greeting patients
  • Charting and recording patient notes both written and computerised
  • Aspirating and passing instruments and materials
  • Mixing materials for use in treatments
  • Cleaning, decontamination and processing of instruments
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Setting up and closing down surgeries at beginning and end of day
  • Cleaning and decontaminating clinical areas
  • Maintaining surgery records as required by CQC
  • Maintaining safe running of equipment and appliances
  • Checking lab work and forms required are present for the day.
  • Stocking up surgeries with supplies and materials
  • Occasional reception duties if required, taking phone calls, booking appointments, filing etc

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Day release at Middlesbrough College / Day release in at Darlington site (Imperial Centre, Grange Rd, Darlington, DL1 5NQ
