What will the apprentice be doing?
- Becoming a qualified slinger, you will develop the learn fundamental knowledge skills and behaviours required to become a fully functioning member of the lifting team on site.
- During the course, you will acquire all the required skills to carry out a variety of lifting operations within the Devonport site, from working with a variety of cranes to using portable equipment and rigging/fleeting within nuclear areas.
- You will be versed with all the current legislations and keep up to date with any legislative changes.

You will gain a variety of national qualifications, this includes:

- Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment (RQF)
- Level 3 Engineering Construction Rigger Apprenticeship standard (including NVQ Level 3)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The apprenticeship will enable you to become a qualified slinger. You will become a fully functioning member of the lifting team on site.
