This apprenticeship will follow the Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard using one of the trade specific pathways contained within it. All trade routes will follow an initial core programme of basic engineering and will then specialise in the relevant trade area. Duties include gaining the knowledge and skills to understand the importance of health and safety, planning, documentation, general engineering mathematical and scientific principles, methods and techniques.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Our engineering apprenticeships cover various trade occupations, which you will follow, mechanical, electrical, fabrication, welding, CNC machining, pipefitting and support engineer
- You will gain the knowledge and skills to understand the importance of health and safety, planning, documentation, general engineering mathematical and scientific principles, methods and techniques
- You will understand the structure, properties and characteristics of commonly used materials, approved diagnostic methods and techniques to overcome problems, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and data and the need to adhere to and continually refine processes and procedures
