What will the apprentice be doing?
Working within a fast-paced environment, the apprentice will administer item specific production estimates from supplied artwork and specifications ensuring that production requirements and deadlines are met.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Creating production estimates and checking virtual work tickets
- Liaising with various internal departments and external customers to resolve various issues
- Checking and signing off artwork specifications
- Updating production plans to enable manufacturing deadlines to be met
- Understand and interpret customer proofs / artwork
- Understand combination workflow - plan different artworks on one sheet
- Move data from one program to another
- Read works instructions to determine instructions and specifications for machine set-up
- Understand artworks, print, cut and crease and finishing process
- Work to tight deadlines, in a calm and professional manner whilst achieving deadlines
- General administration
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard
- The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their "off-the-job" requirement of the apprenticeship
- Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Westrock and the BPIF. You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available
- Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs. Most training and studying will be a combination of remote and site-based
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Once qualified you would be looking at a full-time role working within Order Origination
