As a Finance Apprentice, you will rotate across a range of placements giving you a unique experience of how finance works within Network Rail. This will include supporting finance teams with forecasting, budgeting and analysis and be involved in management accounting activities such as balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and business partnering with non-finance functions.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Apprentices complete AAT level 3 and level 4, and CIMA level 7 apprenticeship programmes and receive Associate status with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll be given the support you need to continue your career at Network Rail and move into one of our finance roles. The Finance Apprentice scheme is now in its seventh year (launched in 2015), and we’re proud to say that its first cohort are working in permanent roles in the company. This is because we believe in recognising, developing and promoting talent.
At the end of your 5-year scheme, you would be eligible to apply for Finance Business Partner roles and earn a salary in the range of £41,000 – £46,000. Those on a 3-year regional scheme will be eligible to apply for Assistant Management Accountant roles.
