What will the apprentice be doing?
The role will involve working within the Estate Management Accounts Department looking after the Block/Properties we manage. You will be working with the Property Managers across the group in preparing accounts for Leaseholders/Freeholders.
- Creating reports for property accounts
- Assisting with bank statements
- Looking after petty cash
- Prepare invoice packs for sending to accountants
- Prepare green Service Charge Accounts files for sending to accountants
- Year End QUBE postings (Accounts software)
- Liaise with departments as and when required
- Carry out any other duties as instructed by your Line Manager
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard:
The apprenticeship will need you to attend classes at college one day a week for the length of a full college day, which you need to commit to. Time spent training will come under the working hours per week.
Apprentices are independently assessed at the end of their programme to achieve the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship at a Pass or Distinction grade.
- Synoptic Test (3 hours on a College PC – 40%) Covering: IT Systems/Processes, Standards, Reporting, Analysis, Comms, Problem Solving, Quality and Accountability within a Financial Accounting Environment.
- A portfolio and reflective discussion (60%) showing evidence of knowledge, skills and behaviours while within the workplace had met required standards.
- Standard Level 2 AAT Exams after each individual unit.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, and subject to progress as an employee, HIVE Client Services would like to offer you a full time job. Job progression is to move within the group and experience other accounts functions as well as study for further accountancy qualifications.
