What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be doing a mix of theory and practical work to build skills as a vehicle technician in the accident repair sector. As a Panel Technician you will learn different panel removal, repair and replacement of vehicle body panels to vehicle manufacture specification.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The training takes place at Thatcham Training Academy, which is recognised as one of the UK’s most highly regarded training centres for accident repair. The training at the training centre will be block release. On successful completion of the Final End Point Assessment you achieve a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Panel Technician Apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Various progression routes available through the business & industry, initially a fully qualified technician, could then move onto Vehicle Damage Assessor with additional training, Workshop Controller, Site Manager etc.
