What will the apprentice be doing?
The key duties of the post are as follows:
- Answer telephone calls, emails, front office reception enquiries and arrange meetings in a timely, courteous and efficient manner
- Support practice banking, credit control and supplier payment activities accurately posting transactions to practice and client records
- Accurately update and maintain client records and database applications
- Manage client onboarding/closing procedures, liaising with client partners & office managers to ensure completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Support digital document management and scanning activities
- Support marketing and brand awareness duties including developing and delivering key seasonal client campaigns
- Support the project management of key annual projects such as the annual fee review and fee protect and any other ongoing projects relating to system/database maintenance
- Support maintenance of practice compliance activities including anti-money laundering and due diligence checks.
- Produce reports on behalf of the senior management team in collating weekly KPI’s to work towards the HRHB team and client partner portfolio targets for the financial year
- Complete all Tax Assist Academy Practice Administration courses
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2)

- Work effectively in finance
- Foundation Certificate Synoptic Assessment
- Apprentices without Level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and taken the test for level 2 prior to taking their end point assessment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
After successfully achieving the AAT Level 2 qualification, the candidate will be considered for the Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship training and/or the opportunity to progress to a more senior level with the firm and a career within accountancy.
