What will the apprentice be doing?

Purple House Breakfast, After School and Holiday Clubz have provided out of school care for primary age children. We are based in Bromley/Beckenham area. Purple House are dedicated to providing fun filled activities for all children.

The post of Breakfast and Afterschool club assistant at Purple House is an opportunity to work as part of a new highly motivated, skilled team of staff.

  • Ensuring children in our care are at the heart of everything they achieve within the club
  • You will gain a childcare qualification (Preferable) and be supervising children, providing breakfast and afterschool care from 7am to 9am and 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday term-time only
  • You will be required to support the Leader in developing and delivering stimulating, child cantered play activities and programmes
  • Your job will be varied and fun. You will be playing sports with children, engaging in arts and crafts. Preparing snacks and looking after children between the ages of 4 to 11 years old

If you have experience working with children and want an opportunity to work part-time, this role may be perfect for you.

Purple House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, safer recruitment vetting and an enhanced DBS check.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training Provider: Bromley College of Further and Higher Education.

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification
  • Level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths
  • Institute of Apprenticeship certificate
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Professional discussion underpinned by portfolio
  • Knowledge test

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is the opportunity to complete the further levels in early years development.
