What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Take responsibility for all outgoing quality
  • Supporting Positive Release through regular audits of quality documentation
  • Ensure records are being completed with accurate and relevant information
  • Observe and promote all site policies and procedures. e.g. Quality Alerts 
  • On shift, lead sorting, back sampling, and investigation exercises.
  • Fully understand the various types of quality checks required, both visual and dimensional and the frequency of the checks in all areas of the Sutton plant.
  • Fully competent in the use of gauges and measuring equipment 
  • Input data into various IT systems. 
  • Understand and implement the procedure for quarantine and DRM.
  • Understand External Auditing body obligations and the need for traceability. 
  • Stand in for the Team Leader when necessary

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Quality Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group. As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Full-time position. Further education and training in quality
