What will the apprentice be doing?
General day to day tasks will include:
- Start up of lasers and brake presses
- Handling sheet metal, operating, loading and unloading of lasers
- Deburring sheet metal, as required
- Setting and operating brake presses
- General housekeeping of the sheet metal section
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This is a Lean Manufacturing Level 2 apprenticeship, delivered over a period of 12 months. You will be required to attend one week's induction at the training provider (In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, Walsall, WS9 8UG) and the rest of the training will be assessor visits to you at the company site. Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Initially to become a competent laser and brake press setter operator.
We do have opportunities to move into programming and design.
