What will the apprentice be doing?
Working with the Laboratory Technician (who will provide on the job training) and reporting to the Technical Manager, the role will include:
- The quality assurance testing of raw materials and finished products
- Reporting on samples returned from customers as part of technical support
- Performing blend studies as part of a product development plan
- The maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- The company is accredited to PAS99 (incorporating Quality,
- Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy Management systems) and the successful candidate will be involved in certain aspects of the business required to maintain these standards.
- Part of the role will also involve working in other areas of the manufacturing operation to gain appreciation of the business as a whole
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The successful applicant will hold strong GCSEs (or equivalent) and preferably be educated to A Level (or equivalent) standard including Chemistry
- Upon succesful completion you will gain a L3 Laboratory technician apprenticeship standard
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Full time role on completion of Apprenticeship for the right candidate
