What will the apprentice be doing?

Daily duties:

  • Provide personal care for the client including non-nursing tasks such as personal hygiene, continence management, dressing and general mobility
  • Provide domestic assistance such as: laundry, bed making, cleaning, shopping, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals in the client’s home and assist with the monitoring of eating habits and food consumption
  • Assist with medication under the guidance of the Supervisor, Senior Care worker, or other qualified person, and / or following suitable training
  • In exceptional circumstances, to contact a doctor, emergency services
  • Assist and encourage the safe use of special equipment provided to assist clients with disabilities or incapacity

3 positions will be based in Chester-Le-Street and 1 position will be based in Stanley.

Things to consider

Candidates must be a driver, business use essential. You must have access to a vehicle as this position is for a domiciliary care worker around Chester le Street or Stanley and surrounding areas. Employment subject to a DBS completed by the organisation.

TLC Community Services Limited has been operating as a domiciliary care provider from office premises based in Edmondsley since April 2001. We are a small company with long serving members of staff. We aim to build up excellent working relationships with both clients and staff enabling a professional but homely working environment. We are contracted with Durham Social Services and the NHS covering Chester-Le-Street and surrounding areas, Stanley and the surrounding areas. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and provide personal care and support services to people who want to maintain their independence in their own homes.
