Apprentice Commis Chef The Rest and Be Thankful

We are looking for an apprentice to work alongside our chef. To take responsibility for cooking dishes and plating dishes for our customers. There will be a variety of tasks to do during the shift such as the preparation of starters/desserts/sandwiches as well as assisting the main chef in making /creating dishes. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to earn a salary and gain a level 2 qualification.

    There will be mix of lunch shifts and evening shifts. It will definitely include weekends. Morning/lunch shift starts at 9.30am/10am - 2.30pm/3pm Evening shift starts at 4.30pm- 9pm but maybe later depending on bookings. All TBC.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Preparation of starters/desserts/sandwiches

  • Ensuring all the forms are filled in making sure we are working in a safe environment

Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard - Commis Chef:

  • Level 2 Commis Chef - Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Functional skills at level 1 and/or 2 in English and maths as required (exemptions apply)

The successful candidate will also need to complete a diagnostic assessment, which will help us plan the appropriate support required to meet your individual needs.

Training will be a day release at the Taunton Campus of Bridgwater and Taunton College.

About the employer

We are a family run business with a small team of staff. We serve food 7 days a week (Apart from Christmas day) . We offer good quality pub food with a specials board to add some flare to the menu. We use local suppliers wherever possible.
