The Sports Coach Level 4 has an important role to play in improving the health and wellbeing of children, families and communities. You will assist in delivering sport and physical activities to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE set programs of study, and also deliver a range of out of school hours learning.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Daily duties:

  • Support the delivery of PE lessons
  • Lead extra-curricular activities
  • Organise and support physical activity and engagement at break and lunch times
  • Carry out some admin related tasks linked to the role

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 4 Sports Coach apprenticeship standard:

  • Functional Skills in maths and English if not previously achieved at GCSE or similar
  • Day release at Weston College
  • You will be given some of your week to complete off the job training
  • In-house training
  • End-Point Assessment preparation
