What will the apprentice be doing?

Part of being an apprentice at Siemens Energy means you get to work on real life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 4 year apprenticeship where you will complete the Engineering Fitter Standard.

  • Complete workshop based placements in mechanical and electrical areas
  • Interpreting and following technical drawings
  • Work manually on assembly and refurbishment of individual components related to gas turbines
  • Fault diagnosis on existing turbines and related components

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This will be a 4 year apprenticeship where you will complete the Engineering Fitter Standard (Level 3). 

This training leads to a Level 2 Foundation qualification and alongside this you will develop your knowledge by undertaking a Level 3 technical qualification. Relevant functional skills are also undertaken if required. Following on from this you will progress to complete an NVQ Level 3 qualification.

Whilst completing the NVQ Level 3 you will undertake a series of work placements within the business which will be predominantly workshop based and include both electrical and mechanical fitting placements.
