Assisting surveyors and directors in the day to day workings of the business which will see apprentices involved in a variety of projects from energy generation such as wind and solar farms, energy storage projects such as battery and hydrogen and assist in keeping the canals and waterways running as well as the roads.

What will the apprentice be doing?
The candidate can expect to undertake the following in day to day life at FGP:
- Assisting surveyors and directors in the day to day running of the business
- Attending progress meetings with clients and contractors
- Assist surveyors in meetings with landowners and their agents to negotiate legal agreements
- Inspect proposed routes for cables and pipelines
- Undertake land searches for solar farms and battery storage sites
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- At the end of the apprenticeship the candidate will receive a BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management and achieve MRICS on the Rural Pathway Route
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Once qualified the candidate would take on the management of projects they had worked on, tender for their own work, and progress through seniority levels within the company
