What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Loading and unloading of vehicles
  • Operating machinery including overhead cranes and saws
  • Fulfilling steel orders
  • Manual handling
  • Support other departments within the factory on an ad-hoc basis
  • Follow health and safety requirements

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice will receive a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative standard on completion of the apprenticeship, which includes:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing

The apprenticeship will take place onsite in South Shields, the apprentice will receive a tutor that will make regular visits throughout the apprenticeship meaning no off-duty days for college are needed.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
