What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be working alongside skilled craftsmen and trained in all aspects of commercial body repair:

This will include:

  • All aspects steel cutting and fabrication
  • Electric grinders and guillotine
  • Mig and arc welding
  • Using a variety of equipment such as hand tools, air drills and pillar drills

You will also be given training on a forklift and scissor lift.  

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, with the drive and ability to work under their own direction or within a team of professionals. They will need to be punctual, reliable and focused on the requirements of the role.

You will attend Sparsholt for a two-week block in August and then day release starting from September

  • Level 3 Advanced Metal Fabrication Standard
  • Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship you may be offered a permanent position within the organisation.

Things to consider

This is a physically demanding role, where you will be required to be on your feet for long periods of time. There is a skills shortfall in the welding industry so on achievement of this apprenticeship you will have developed a career for life.
