This is a starting rate based on applicants without any prior experience and/or attainment. This could change based on those factors. Incremental rises will be awarded on an annual basis, which will lead to a skilled rate salary.

Working week
1st Year of the apprenticeship is at Appris in Bradford. You will be there from 8.30am - 4.30pm / 5.00pm Monday - Friday. From the 2nd year onwards you will be working from 7.30am - 3.00pm Monday - Friday.

What will the apprentice be doing?
As a Technician Support Technician in the Plant Operations function, you will be working towards responsibilities for the following duties:
- Completion of daily safety, quality and equipment checks
- Operating a range of machinery in our production areas
- Work to the required company and industry standard whilst retaining responsibility for the quality of your own work
- To ensure customer requirements are met by ensuring tasks are completed and any issues resolved and communicated to other members of the department
- To be flexible within Huddersfield Turbo Plant, given training as directed to meet operational requirements
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Engineering Technician - Technical Support Technician.
Year 1 - 5 Days a week at Appris Training Centre, Bradford, studying:
- BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence - Mechanical)
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge - Mechanical)
Year 2 & 3 - 1 Day a week at Appris Training Centre, Bradford, studying:
- BTEC Level 4 HNC in Engineeirng (this is not mandatory and dependant on the outcomes of year one performance)
Year 2 to Year 4 - Workplace qualification:
- EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufactuirng Engineering - Technical Support Technician (Devleopment Competence)
- Internal training, development and mentoring with highly skilled engineers in a variety of project and support based areas and other engineering related duties and requirements
In your 4th Year, you will continue to work towards your occupational competency in engineering and prepare for independent end-point assessments.
