What will the apprentice be doing?
The successful candidate will be working towards a set of core competencies so that they have the right basic skills, attitudes and behaviours for an administrative role in the business environment. This will include supporting the team with all aspects of day-to-day administration and general office duties.
As a Business Administrator Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
- Incoming post
- Outgoing post – including previews & processing orders
- Stock management – stationery supplies, DVDs, duplications etc.
- Credit control – issuing invoices and chasing for payment, processing card payments
- Invoices – keeping folders in order and passing for payment when due
- General filing
- Updating database with a high level of accuracy
- Updating website – add and remove products, order administration
- Typing letters
- Checking emails on a daily basis
- Sales report – updated weekly
- General product knowledge – including DVDs and prices
- Amazon – add and remove products, order administration
- Reminder letters, PAR and SR invoices
- Maintaining printers – checking ink levels, refilling paper tray etc.
- Email database – maintaining by adding new and removing invalid emails
- Email shots – to be sent on a fortnightly basis to promote products
- Other tasks as needed
The right candidate will be organised and pay attention to detail. A good knowledge of IT is essential.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be awarded the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard
- Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by a dedicated BPIF Training Coordinator. Delivery will take place via a series of online workshops, complimented by one-to-one sessions with your allocated Training Coordinator to ensure progress.
- As an apprentice, you will undertake ‘off-the-job’ training to develop the required knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship standard during your normal working hours
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, we aim to employ the apprentice as a permanent member of staff
- Opportunities will be provided to further develop your professional career within the company
