What will the apprentice be doing?
The apprenticeship will be based at one of our sites in Plymouth. During your apprenticeship you will study a Level 3 Marine Engineering Standard. The main skills that will be learnt are:
- Diagnostic testing of engines and mechanical equipment
- Installation of engines
- Installation of ancillary equipment
- Removal of yacht and boat electrical equipment
- Servicing and repairing marine engines
- Routine servicing of marine equipment
Programme benefits:
- Completion of RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA marine short radio short range certificate, RYA sea survival or First Aid
- On and off the water activities such as residential trips

- V40 Hull in the workshop of South Devon College to work on during college

- Training will be over 4 years, 1st year will be 4 days per week in college, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year 1 day a week in college and 3 days in the workplace
