The Play Hut Day Nursery are delighted to offer the opportunity to join our team as a Level 3 Early Years Apprentice. You will have an opportunity to complete the qualification whilst gaining experience within a nursery. Your duties will include but not be limited to, provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, deliver a high standard of learning, development, and care for children ages 0-5 adhering to the EYFS Reforms, to liaise with parents, informing them about their child’s nursery day and encouraging their involvement etc.,

The starting salary will be the national minimum wage for apprentices. This will be reviewed and increased depending on the candidate’s ability.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties include:
- To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship.
- To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment.
- To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children ages 0-5 adhering to the EYFS Reforms.
- To liaise with parents, informing them about their child’s nursery day and encouraging their involvement.
- To understand and adhere to nursery policies and procedures.
- To ensure the physical wellbeing o all children by meeting individual care needs, e.g. nappy changing, toilet training, etc.
- To assist with simple preparation of snacks and meals as required.
- To ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety of toys and equipment in use.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Early Years Educator Level 3
Apprentices must successfully complete a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Please refer to the DfE list of approved EYE qualifications:

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirements are Entry Level 3, and the British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English qualifications for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.
Apprentices must successfully complete a first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework (Annex A): Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
Location: Darlington
Working 5 days per week, term time only basis, including one day release for study at Darlington College.
