£21,500 starting base salary + 11% benefits fund + bonus. We offer a relocation package to help with the costs and process of moving for candidates who currently live more than 60 minutes from the site location for this Apprenticeship.

What will the apprentice be doing?
AstraZeneca’s Centre for Genomics Research (CGR) is part of our unprecedented Genomic Initiative involving the analysis of up to 2 million genomes and complementary multi-omics. This includes analysing the sequences of participants from AstraZeneca clinical trials and the sequence data from large population cohorts. CGR is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic early career project manager to support the growing genome analytics and informatics requirements of the Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to enable large-scale genomic studies among AstraZeneca’s core therapeutic areas of:
- Oncology
- Respiratory
- Cardiovascular
- Metabolic disease

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team in CGR’s multidisciplinary genomics research environment
- Analysing the sequences of participants from AstraZeneca clinical trials and the sequence data from large population cohorts.
You will be responsible for
- Coordinating efforts related to the Centre’s growing and
- Evolving informatics and data analytics capabilities.
You will work alongside bioinformaticians, genome analysts and software scientists to ensure that project activities are aligned to deliver the expected business value within agreed timelines.

- Coordinating the delivery of genome informatics and analytics projects both internal as well as the work delivered through a network of 3rd party companies and suppliers
- Tracking the delivery of work versus the budget and timelines
- Reporting on progress, budgets, risk and opportunities
- Contributing to project planning and prioritisation

Training is delivered via blended learning, primarily online with some blocks of face-to-face learning in London.
A degree apprenticeship combines full-time paid work with us and part-time university learning whilst being involved in real-life delivery, practical learning and getting paid.
As well as this, you will be supported on a day-to-day basis with:
- Opportunities to apply your learning in the workplace
- Reasonable time out to attend university and study (during study leave)
- Focused objectives and goals for the duration of each rotation
