What will the apprentice be doing?

Full Job Description

The candidate will be involved in maintaining the accounts records for a wide variety of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, on a number of different accounts software products whilst studying for AAT Level 2/3.

• Entering purchase invoices and bank transactions onto accounts software;
• Creating/posting sales invoices/income onto accounts software;
• Entering necessary adjustments to ensure book-keeping records are complete to hand over to the accounts production team at year end;
• Reviewing/updating book-keeping records on a regular basis to ensure they provide meaningful and up to date information for the client;
• Completing quarterly vat returns;
• Providing assistance to clients/answering queries in respect of the use of different accounts software. This will include set up of the software, providing training to the client, ad hoc advice or assistance with particular transactions. The accounts software we use are mainly free agent, xero and sage.
