What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be trained to be an integral part of a highly skilled team of specialist engineers, once trained, your day-to-day schedule will entail:
- Receive item from customer and gather information on potential
fault/history - Assess item by stripping down to find/verify faults
- Quote customer to repair item
- Order parts for repair
- Monitor parts delivery/received
- Fit new parts and test
- Handover to customer with description of work completed
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
- Qualification achieved: Level 3 Engineering Technician - Mechatronics Maintenance
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking end point assessment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- To work towards becoming a fully qualified electro-mechanical engineer with a full-time and well rewarded position at the end of your apprenticeship
