What will the apprentice be doing?
The role is based within our service and engineering department.
The successful candidate will have their own engineers and customers to support and will deliver a range of business-critical tasks such as:
- Support the management of our on-line portal for customers
- Telephone based and email-based customer service and enquiries management
- Liaison with laboratories for sample collections across the country
- Document management for service engineer's reports, H&S compliance, ISO audits etc.
- Coordination of hotels, transport and logistics for engineers, directors and other members of staff
- Customer service for visitors including the management and booking of visitor appointments, arranging building and IT maintenance appointments (such as services for fire alarm, CCTV, security alarm, IT backups etc) and arrangements for catering for clients and visitors
- Gathering customer service feedback from clients
- Office equipment and food ordering (such as office supplier, milk deliveries etc).
- Arranging for parcels and post to be sent out to customers
- Supporting the smooth running of the business including tasks such as uniform stock checks, building access checks, first aid kit management etc.
- Support annual document archiving within the engineer's office and the finance office
- You will need to be organised, reliable and feel confident that you can develop within your role. With a keen approach for detail, you'll to be able to identify issues and anomalies in the data collated and used by our engineers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will study a Level 3 Business Administrator standard. This will be aided by an assessor who will carry out all assessments as work-based learning within the workplace.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The opportunity to progress onto a higher level qualification for the right candidate.
