What will the apprentice be doing?


  • Plan and deliver high qulaity coaching in schools and community settings
  • To identify and meet the needs of the participants
  • To maintain discipline and safety during sessions
  • To complete the appropriate evaluation and feedback forms including attendance registers and assessment sheets
  • Attend and complete coaching courses
  • Support with the co-ordination of children’s holiday activities and community sports sessions
  • Assist the learning of other members of the team

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The program will consist of online learning, webinars, practical workshops and workplace visits from a tutor.

On completion you will achieve a Level 4 Sports Coach qualification. As well as:

  • Opportunities to gain National Governing Body Coaching Awards
  • Functional Skills in maths and English Level 2 (if required)
  • Opportunities to attend additional qualifications (such as first aid etc)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Full time position with Sport2day
  • Progression to subject leader or area manager positions

Things to consider

Travelling between different school locations will be required as part of this role. The ideal candidate would have access to own transport. Uniform will be provided and must be worn at all times. The successful candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. The post holder will require an Enhanced DBS Check.
