What will the apprentice be doing?

This isn’t just about taking food out of a freezer and popping it in the oven or deep fat fryer – you will be trained to transform fresh ingredients into high quality food for our hotels. These are skills for life.

Chefs are always in high demand and your friends and family will love your new skills! Many of our Hand Picked Chefs have travelled the world or have cooked for the great and the good. They wouldn’t change their career as a Chef for anything.

As a Hand Picked Apprentice Chef you will be provided with excellent training and development both from our own Chefs and the HIT Training Assessors

•£10 per hour rising to the current Commis Chef salary per hour for the hotel you’re at on completion of your level 2 course. We can guarantee you’ll never be under £10 per hour as a commis chef.

About the employer

Stanbrook Abbey Hotel in Worcester has recently had a £4.2m renovation, meticulously designed to celebrate the country house hotel’s heritage, and introduced the new brasserie-style dining experience in The Refectory restaurant. The hotel is situated in the site of the original nun’s cafeteria, as well as eight new bedrooms situated on the second floor with a further seven rooms built in the original schoolhouse in St Anne’s Wing, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 70.
