What will the apprentice be doing?
• Ensure the smooth running of ICT systems to facilitate Teaching, Learning, Administration and Leadership. • To allow the effective use of ICT by Teaching Staff, Admin Staff, Leadership and Students and to improve both their understanding of ICT and their experience of its use. • To provide remote and face to face technical support in line with the academy’s ICT support service definition. • Ensure effective liaison and communication with all colleagues as appropriate to ensure the needs of students and the Trust Academies are met. • Ensure information processed is treated with the strictest confidentiality and discretion. Travel between Trust Academies to provide IT support. Desktop, Tablet & Application Support • Connect, set up and check PCs and peripherals for normal operation. • Detect, diagnose and resolve PC, peripheral and application errors. • Maintain student one-to-one tablet device (iPads). • Setup and configure devices in line with trust standard operating procedure. • Roll out apps via the MDM. Server & Network Support • Set up hardware and perform basic checking of networked PCs, including diagnosis of IT Hardware and Software. • Perform routine maintenance tasks for user accounts; run basic network monitoring reports and utilities. • Perform pro-active daily system checks Continuity, Maintenance and Security • Carry out basic safety checks to make sure ICT resources are safe for use. • Follow relevant security procedures and raise awareness among staff, pupils and other users. • Ensure that all devices are encrypted. • Willingness to learn the fundamentals of developmental change plans and disaster recovery plans
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
CORE MODULES The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician level 3. The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available. Computer Fundamentals & Security Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting. Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services An introduction to the fundamental cloud concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking modules, devices and protocols. Communication in Support Support in IT requires good communications skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.
