We are looking for an internal IT technician who can help support approximately 100 staff, PCs, server, network infrastructure, software, and systems administration. The role would encompass learning to support a very wide range of systems and devices, becoming the “go-to” person for day-to-day support. Duties include repairing or upgrading hardware including laptops and desktops, monitoring and maintaining computer systems and our network and talking staff through a series of actions - either face-to-face or over the telephone or remote links to address issues they may be having.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Example duties:
- Installing and configuring desktop and laptop computer systems, network devices, tablets, smartphones and desk phones
- Repairing or upgrading hardware including laptops and desktops
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and our network
- Talking staff through a series of actions - either face-to-face or over the telephone or remote links to address issues they may be having
- Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
- Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment
The successful candidate will undertake an eighteen-month, nationally recognised qualification through TDM. This is a work-based learning programme which will require commitment to block weeks in an online training room once every quarter working towards the qualification along with weekly off the job training and monthly coaching sessions.
You will be required to demonstrate through the standard that you meet all competencies and behaviours, which will lead to the achievement of the qualification. These block weeks will take place online in virtual classrooms.
You will have a designated mentor in the workplace to support your learning and at the end of programme will be assessed via an external assessment body.
This is a Level 3 qualification.
