What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Assisting with the creation of the MMC Funding Pack at the start of a client contract. This includes identifying funding sources and evidencing the need for the charitable work
  • Research new funding leads on a regular basis to improve the opportunity for income
  • Keep the funding calendar up to date and allocating bids each month
  • Using the MMC Funding Pack structure to write a master case for support and accompanying letter and project sheets
  • Completing monthly activity sheets showing work planned and completed
  • When instructed: Client liaison – weekly phone or Teams meetings with clients to review progress and ensure all items needed from client are collected
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, all work spell checked, sense checked, and funding bids written to appropriate trusts only
  • Liaising with the line manager to ensure progress and quality is maintained
  • Ensuring funding reports are written at the correct time and with correct content
  • Managing incoming emails via funders email account
  • Arranging for signatures of letters and posting of the same
  • Supporting colleague to develop the central fundraising database project for MMC
  • Attending and feeding info into MMC team meetings
  • Supporting MMC to develop by undertaking ad hoc tasks when required
  • Undertaking training as and when required
  • Helping to publicise MMC to potential clients via your own social media networks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will gain the Fundraiser Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification and Certificate in Fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising at the end of your training
  • Your training will be provided online through live, tutor-led seminars twice a month plus one-to-one coaching sessions with the JGA Group

  • Introduction to fundraising; regulation, finance and ethical issues
  • Fundraising audit: external and internal environment
  • Managing supporter data: storing, insight and compliance
  • Understanding donor motivations and behaviour
  • Key components of a fundraising plan
  • Developing a case for support and pitching
  • Creating winning communications
  • Influencing stakeholders and creating a culture of fundraising
  • Supporter care and stewardship
  • Budgeting, monitoring, evaluating and reporting
  • Developing an integrated campaign.
