What will the apprentice be doing?
Apprentices will learn all aspects of
- service, maintenance and installation of a wide range of air conditioning and commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Working on various clients’ premises with qualified engineers, attending callouts and assisting on maintenance contracts, filling out necessary paperwork and adhering to company and clients.
- Health and Safety procedures.
Day to day tasks will include;
- Learn how to Service, Maintain and Install commercial Air con and Refrigeration units.
- Repair any faults on Air Con and Refrigeration systems.
- Attend commercial / industrial based large site environments, i.e. bakeries, factories, office blocks, along with smaller commercial sites, i.e. general dealers, public houses to install various Air Conditioning & Refrigeration systems such as VRV's, Splits, Multi-splits & Cold Rooms.
- Carry out pre-planned repair works on Air Conditioning equipment.
- Understand client requirements to ensure successful delivery of works
Applicants must be aged over 18 due to the nature of the work, and the number of working hours required each week and some working away from home will be required.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Full Refrigeration standard.
Day release to campus once a week.
Refrigeration air conditioning and heat pump engineering technician
Level 3.
All apprentices must achieve a “Level 2 Certificate in F Gas and ODS Regulations Category 1” as this is a legal requirement under the EU F Gas Regulation 517/2014 to work on equipment containing Fluorinated Refrigerants.
