What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To provide high standards of childcare and education, to include the monitoring and implementation of children’s development, includes providing a safe, caring environment to enable the emotional, social and educational development of children, through individual attention and group activities
  • Setting up activities for children
  • To ensure that families and children from all social and cultural groups feel valued and secure
  • Supervising children at play and lunchtimes
  • Preparing snacks for children
  • Maintaining a tidy workplace
  • Managing the behaviour of children

Things to consider

You will be expected to be flexible with the working hours to ensure ratios are maintained. During the year you will be expected to participate in additional events out of the normal working hours, for example, parent’s evening and open days. There is a degree of lifting and carrying that you will need to be able to carry out. This nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required undertake an enhanced DBS.
