What will the apprentice be doing?
You will gain CAD skills and an insight into design areas including chassis, powertrain, cabs and electrical systems.
For those looking to specialise in electrical design you will gain more in-depth skills and knowledge whilst working in areas including electronics, CAN/networking, embedded software/diagnostics, electrical wiring/circuits, systems engineering, requirements definition/capture and management. You will also gain skills on advanced technologies such as those involved with architecture, concepts, safety systems, electrification and levels of driver assistance leading towards vehicle autonomy.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will achieve a BEng (Hons) in Engineering as part of the Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer (Degree) Standard.
You will attend the University of Central Lancashire on a day release basis to achieve the degree element of the apprenticeship.
