As a key member of the team, you will assist and provide administrative support for the Town Clerk’s Services. There are 3 key area’s you may be asked to support with projects, service support, and local land charges.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties will include:
- Answering telephones in a professional manner and distributing messages where required and answering queries where possible
- Photocopying
- Scanning
- Filing & indexing
- Basic typing
- Processing and distributing post
- Taking legal documents to and from the Courts
- Providing support to teams within Town Clerk Service as required
Projects – Our projects can vary from data inputting, archiving to data migration and much more. Some projects support other service areas which enables you to get a better understanding of the whole Council opposed to just one service area.
Service Support – Service Support touches on all aspects of administration, from printing and copying, taking documents to the courts, post processing, audio transcribing and so much more.
Local Land Charges – Local Land Charges complete Local Authority searches for solicitors and personal search companies. The searches are done for people who are in the process of buying a house. One of your responsibilities could be inputting searches that have been sent in by solicitors and search companies. You will have the opportunity to work with a bespoke system to complete this work.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Public Service Operational Delivery Officer apprenticeship standard:
- Level 2 Award in Operational Delivery (Principles)
- Level 3 Certificate in Operation Delivery (Advanced)
- Functional Skills in maths, English
Operation Delivery Officers have a vital role with Hull City Council.
Roles include bringing data and evidence together and making sure it is correct.
You may also be considering applications, analysing information and making decisions.
Regular training and development sessions to meet the needs of the employer and the apprentice.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion of the advanced apprenticeship if available.
