Welding and Fabrication Apprentice MATTHEWS & SONS (HANLEY) LTD
We have an opportunity for a welding and fabrication apprenticeship role with a local company. You will be expected to carry out their work safely and meet the exacting quality standards demanded in a fast paced and efficient processing environment.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Monday - Thursday 8-00am until 4.45pm. Friday 8-00 until 3-15pm.
Total hours per week: 40

What will the apprentice be doing?
The role will mainly comprise of (but not limited to:
- Fabricating one off jobs from drawings
- Drilling, marking out, painting
- Bandsaw drill and circular saw machinery use
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard which includes:
- Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
- Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
Learning will take place in the workplace with the need to attend training with NSEGTA when required.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Progression routes to be discussed on completion of the apprenticeship.
