What will the apprentice be doing?
- Arranging movement of full containers via sea / air / road (import and export)
- Arranging movement of part loads via sea /air / road (import and export)
- Arranging airfreight movements (import and export)
- Import customs clearances (both ROW and European goods)
- Export customs clearances (both ROW and European goods)
- Assisting with quotation requests
- Creating IPAFFS Cert / GVMS / T1
- VGM declaration / arrangements
- Learn to navigate the HMR&C tariff
- Checking customs tariff classifications
- Arranging release from shipping lines / carriers
- Arranging full container and part load deliveries
- Arranging warehouse goods movements
- Arranging courier collections
- Shipment tracking / monitoring
- Set-up / request payments
- Keeping storage files updated
- Set up credit / supplier accounts
- Creating job files on internal system
- Raising customer invoices
- Input of purchase invoices
- Electronic filing of e-mails and documents via internal system
- General related ad-hoc duties
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The apprentice will be conducting 6 hours per week of training, that will allow them to work towards a Level 3 Qualification
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- The apprentice will be working towards a revised renumeration package, upon the completion of the apprenticeship
