What will the apprentice be doing?

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting IT issues
  • Delivering support to local and remote users
  • Serving as the first point of contact for service desk management
  • Configure and install user equipment
  • Help manage Atkore’s local and cloud-based infrastructures and to implement and deliver best practice IT service

In terms of technical skills, familiarity with the Microsoft stack would be advantageous as well as the tenacity and motivation to learn new skills within the corporate IT world.

There will also be opportunities for personal development and to contribute to exciting larger strategic projects such as infrastructure upgrades and strategic software initiatives including CRM, BI and ERP.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship standard delivered via virtual learning platform and Microsoft Teams classroom sessions.

With support from specialist trainers and 121 skills coach and physical IT Solutions textbooks to complete learning on programme. IT Solutions exams included conducted and invigilated in office location with day release.

Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English if required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Full-time opportunity available on completion of the apprenticeship.
