What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking for Building Services Degree Apprentices, in both Electrical and Mechanical, to join our teams across the UK.
From your first day you will:
- Join a community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification
- You will work alongside and be taught by engineers who designed projects that include the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Brentford Community Stadium, W Hotel in Prague, and Car plants for companies such as Jaguar Land Rover and Mercedes
- You will help to deliver effective and professional services for a range of high-profile clients and varied projects
- While you will have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we will give you the chance to take on more as you broaden your skills and progress your career at Arup
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Successful apprentices will gain a BSc or BEng building services degree which is accredited by the relevant professional engineering institution. Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
- Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on
- A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- When joining us as one of our apprentices, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to study for a paid, professionally recognised qualification in a discipline that will help you further your career
- Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have access to our online network. You’ll also take internal courses. These cover technical aspects of the business, such as software, but also vital ‘soft’ skills such as report writing and working effectively
