What will the apprentice be doing?

Right now we're looking for a Project Controls Professional Apprentice to join our team in London.

From your first day, you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification.

You'll work within the specialist Construction Planning team that is part of the Programme & Project Management (PPM) practice in London, to support programme and project management commissions won by PPM and engineering services commissions won by other parts of Arup.

The Construction Planning team is a centre of excellence within Arup for Project Planning Consultancy services for all stages of programmes and projects.

The particular focus of the person sought for this role is to support senior planners / schedulers with project controls during the design and construction stages of engineering projects.

Working typically across large-scale/complex or higher-risk projects and programmes, your assessment of the health of the scheme will be essential to provide appropriate recommendations to the project team and to the client.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards the Level 6 Project Controls Professional qualification.

Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace.

Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

When joining us as one of our apprentices, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to study for a paid, professionally recognised qualification in a discipline that will help you further your career.

Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have access to our online network. You’ll also take internal courses. These cover technical aspects of the business, such as software, but also vital ‘soft’ skills such as report writing and working effectively.
