    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    The salons are open between 9.00am - 8.00pm Monday to Friday (shifts will be either 9.00am - 6.00pm or 11.00am - 8.00pm) and 8:30am - 5:30pm on weekends. 4 days working at the salon, 1 day studying at college (Monday) and one day off each week.

What will the apprentice be doing?

There are 3x positions available, 1x vacancy available at one of the Ghost Hair Salons (Purley, Selsdon or West Wickham - https://www.ghost-hair.com/)

Apprentices will carry out various duties including:

  • Assisting a team of busy stylists and being a key part in helping the salon to run smoothly and efficiently
  • Reception duties (taking bookings and answering the phone in a professional manner)
  • Taking care of clients (greeting, shampooing, making refreshments)
  • General cleaning duties and always keeping the salon presentable
  • Mixing colour and skin testing clients (as apprenticeship progresses)
  • Blow drying and applying treatments (as apprenticeship progresses)

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Candidates will study on day release at East Surrey College (Redhill).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates will receieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 NVQ Hair Diploma
  • Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates have the potential to progress to a stylist level subject or to other available full-time positions.

Our highly experienced staff provide vast knowledge, and in every salon, there is an in-house L'Oréal colour degree expert.
