What will the apprentice be doing?
- Handling heavy/large components and parts
- Learning how to conduct inspections for part dimensions
- Inspecting parts and recording the results
- Gain experience operating suitable equipment
- Assembling component assemblies
- Booking work on the works IT system
- Wear appropriate PPE and work to acceptable Health & Safety standards
- Build professional relationships with the CBE Plus team
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
During and upon completion of the programme, the apprentice will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Foundation Competence qualification
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Competence qualification
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge qualification
The overall qualification is Engineering Technician Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.
You will study on a Level 3 Engineering Technician standard on a Technical Support Technician pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
