What will the apprentice be doing?
- You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works
- You'll work on a wide range of projects - from roads and pavements to carparks, drainage, and earthworks, flood defence, dams and reservoirs and water treatment works
- Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes, and could involve highways, bridges, and rail schemes
- You could also get involved in the computer modelling and drawing of access roads, civil structures, bridges, and utility infrastructure
- You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients
For this apprenticeship opportunity we are recruiting into our Highways and Civil, Rail, Bridge and Civil Structures teams.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards the Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering.
You'll study at a local partner college on day release and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have access to our online network. You’ll also take internal courses. These cover technical aspects of the business, such as software, but also vital ‘soft’ skills such as report writing and working effectively.
Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.
