What will the apprentice be doing?
You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. You'll work on a wide range of projects - from roads and pavements to car-parks, drainage, and earthworks, flood defence, dams & reservoirs and water treatment works. Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes, and could involve highways, bridges, and rail schemes. You could also get involved in the computer modelling and drawing of access roads, civil structures, bridges and utility infrastructure.
You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards the Level 3 Civil Engineering qualification.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Civil Engineering (603/1217/8)
As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a college, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have access to our online network. You’ll also take internal courses. These cover technical aspects of the business, such as software, but also vital ‘soft’ skills such as report writing and working effectively.
