What will the apprentice be doing?
- Turning, milling, CNC programming, fitting & knowledge of other manufacturing processes
- Soldering and knowledge of other joining processes
- Basic sheet metal fabrication – folding, shearing, forming
- Interpreting and creation of engineering drawings using 3D CAD packages
- Basic electrical and electronic practical skills
- Measurement and inspection techniques using a range of metrology equipment
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- West Suffolk College, based in Bury St Edmunds, offer Apprentices the chance to study Apprenticeships from Level 3 to Level 6 with Domino within Engineering and Manufacturing
- We have many different pathways based around the job roles to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviour to be a competent and qualified Engineer
- Our courses range from 3-6 years attending West Suffolk College on a day release basis for both practical and theory lessons, combined with work based visits to support and prepare for Assessment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Throughout your apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to do rotations around R&D areas such as mechanical design and Engineering along with manufacturing and our digital printing technical team. This will give you a good variety and help you decide which area you would like to specialise in
